I’m no stranger to female deer in my front yard, but a while ago, I was shocked to see a young buck following a mother and her two female offspring into my yard. I don’t know if he was the offspring of the mother from last year or if he was following them because he fancied one of the girls but the mother didn’t seem very happy he was around. She kept trying to run him off. He retreated to the other side of my yard but stuck around. The little girls (they still had their spots at the time) didn’t seem bothered by him.
He’s so pretty.
I saw him only once more after this photo was taken. I wonder if he got together with one of the girls. Maybe she’ll come back to my yard in the spring with a baby of her own. [^_^]
