Farewell 2016

It’s time to bid 2016 farewell. Today marks the last Monday of the year, thus this is my last blog post of the year. Next Monday will not only bring with it a new year, but a slight change in my blogging schedule.

Instead of a new blog post every Monday, I’ll be posting a new blog every OTHER Monday. Aww, I can feel your sadness.

I made this decision so that I could start focusing more on my other writing projects in the year to come. My hope is to be able to finish my second novel and start looking into avenues of publication.

I will make a new post next Monday to kick off the new year, so I’ll leave you with this random photo of a chipmunk I took earlier this year…

Hey, Chip! Where’s Dale!? (ba-dum-tss  *sound of crickets*)

Anyway…

Until next time…

December Pick-Me-Up

With the days getting colder as we travel further into winter, I figured it’d be nice to post a shot of something bright and lively. An image to help folks look forward to spring. It may seem like a long way off right now, especially in areas that already have several feet of snow, but we’ll get there eventually. We always do.

Oh, and since next Monday falls on the 26th, and is the last Monday of 2016 (already!?) I’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, Happy/Merry *insert holiday here*! Whatever holiday you celebrate, I hope it’s joyous, healthy, and safe!

Until next time…

Tunk Waterfall

Tunk Mountain is one of my favorite places after Quoddy to go hiking.  When I was there earlier this year, every little brook and stream was dry from a severe lack of rain.

On my most recent hike, I was glad to see the water had returned to a more normal level.  The brooks and streams were flowing full force.

I stopped at one of my favorite spots for picnics and photographs.  It was too cold that day to picnic next to the cold waters, so I just settled for some photographs.  I decided to play around with some of the in-camera photo effects.  I liked this black and white image the best, seconded by the same shot set up in black and white with a hint of blue in the water.

Zora’s Domain

No amount of inclement weather or drastic change in temperature will stop the Hero of Time!  (Don’t look at me like that, we’ve already established that I’m a nerd)

Though the weather was bleak and cold, Link still found the strength to pay a visit to the Zora’s Domain. But why? Well, that I’ll leave to your imagination.

Link in the Zora Domain

If you’re lost and don’t know what I’m talking about, I urge you to go play a Legend of Zelda game. I’d recommend Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, or Skyward Sword.

Don’t worry, next week’s post won’t be nerdy. I figured I’d give my readers a break from my geekness (plus Link could use a break too! [-_^]).

Until next time…

Archery Practice

Though I’m a fan of archery and kicked ass at it back when I was in high school, I’m not talking about my own archery practice here.

I’m talking about Link.  He’s known to be proficient in many weapons (those of you that enjoy the Legend of Zelda games know this well); the bow being one of them.

Link's Archery Practice

As my Link figure only came with his sword and shield (and interchangeable hands), I had to make his bow.  Go me!  Now Link can reach those pesky enemies from a distance!

Until next time…
