HI HO, SIMON!

A few weeks ago I introduced you to my new photographic friend, the gnome, Martin “Marty” McGnome. I didn’t mention then that I also had a few other characters along for the ride.

Meet Oliver “Ollie” the Elf and his faithful, yet slow mount, Simon the Snail!

The Gnome Has A Name!

Last week I mentioned how I found a new partner in crime for photography on my hikes and I asked my readers if they had any suggestions for names other than “Norm the Gnome“ as that‘s the name of the gnome my mother has (I got her into photography a long time ago and photographing figurines recently)…

I received one reply on my Facebook page. Just one. Kind of sad seeing as I have over 100 readers/followers. Are you folks awake out there?

Anyway, the suggestion was spot on so I guess that makes up for it.

Meet Martin “Marty” McGnome! (Thanks Nikki!) [^_^]

Expect to be seeing more from my adventures with Mr. McGnome along with a few new characters in the future.

New Partner In Crime!

A while back I mentioned how I was exploring something a little whimsical by taking photos of different action figures and toys while on my hikes. Well, on a recent trip to a craft store, I found my new partner in crime…

A photographer Gnome!

I’ve already taken him on a few excursions as evidenced by the photo above, but I don’t know what to name him. Norm is taken (my mother found a Gnome for her own photos), plus, I’m not a big fan of the name Norm anyway (no offense to any of my readers that may be named Norm or some variation thereof!).

Any suggestions for a name for my new photographer Gnome? Leave a comment and let me know!

Until next time…

Pets Reflect Their Owners

Have you ever noticed that sometimes pets and their owners start looking similar as the years go by?  Ever had this happen to a friend?  To you?

I can’t say I’ve had one of my pets start looking like me, but I have had pets that seem to start thinking like me.  I’ve had cats come running into my room and hang out when I’m listening to my favorite music, climb into my lap for a nap while I’m reading or watching a favorite movie, and most recently, my cat Kenzi has taken a liking to the blanket my mother made for me this past Christmas.  That could just be her love of soft fleece blankets, but there’s something interesting about this one.  It’s Doctor Who themed.  And it seems to be her new favorite (this also reinforces what I mentioned in the post I made last month…Cat Burglar).

Every time I crawl under this particular blanket to read or watch TV she comes running.  No matter where she was in the house.  Even if she was in the basement and couldn‘t see me.  It’s like she has some kind of blanket ESP.

How many people can say they have a Whovian cat?  Me!

Kenzi’s a nerd, just like me!

Until next time…

License Plate Fun

As a photographer, I always make sure I have my camera with me wherever I go.  On the rare occasions I forget it when I step out the door, I feel lost, or dare I say, naked without it.  I carry my camera so I can be prepared when I see something pretty, something interesting, something pretty interesting, something funny, something pretty funny, etc.

Every time I see a funny or unusual “vanity” plate, I snap a picture.  Recently, I came across one that literally made me “LOL”!

Game of Thrones fans will be pleased!

HODOR plate

Keep an eye out for vanity plates because some of them are pretty awesome.  But speaking of vanity plates dear readers, I’m curious…What’s the funniest or most imaginative one you’ve ever come across?

Until next time…  HODOR!!!
