Pretty Waterfall

Quite some time ago, I headed out for a bike ride at the Bangor City Forest (I’ll post a few pictures from that trip in another blog post at a later date). On the way home I decided to finally stop and check out some public land I pass in Amherst every time I take a trip to Bangor.

 

The trek down the dirt road had me a bit concerned since there were so many twists and turns and no trailheads in sight for quite some time. But, I pressed on and eventually spotted a small sign for one of the many trailheads in the area. I continued on and just happened to spot a pretty little waterfall by the side of the road. So, I found a spot to park, walked over, and took a few photos.

 

 

 

It seems I’ll need to do a little research on the area and find some maps of the trails before I pay the Amherst Public Lands another visit.

Get Your Fish On

I don’t fish, personally, but I know a lot of people do. They fish for sport (which I don’t care for), they fish for relaxation, and they fish for food.

 

Link is no exception. (FYI, I made that fishing pole! *super proud* [^_^])

 

 

I wonder what he’s trying to catch. The elusive Hylian Loach, maybe?

New Trail

Every once in a while I start to get a little bored hiking the same circuit of trails over and over.  So, when I stumble upon a new trail, I’m eager to check it out.

 

I recently located another trail close by one I frequent.  How I never knew about this trail before is kind of sad.  I didn’t drive far enough down the particular road.  Sort of an “around the next bend” kind of situation.

 

Anyway, the trail system is called the Boot Head Preserve and it’s a modest two mile loop but the ocean vistas are awesome.

 

This was the first vista I came to when I took the right path of the loop.

Circling around the loop, I came upon this staircase…

…which brought me to another awesome vista.

I’ll definitely be visiting this preserve again in the future.

Hiding Spot

On a recent hike, I stumbled across a tree that had a spot hollowed out.  Something about the size and shape of the hollow got me thinking…

 

It’d be a perfect place for Link to hide…

 

 

Sometimes you gotta ambush your enemies and what better way to do it than from above, from the hollow of a tree?

December Pick-Me-Up

With the days getting colder as we travel further into winter, I figured it’d be nice to post a shot of something bright and lively. An image to help folks look forward to spring. It may seem like a long way off right now, especially in areas that already have several feet of snow, but we’ll get there eventually. We always do.
