Maybe This Will Help…

Sadly, with more and more photographers being accosted by police, security, cranky business owners, and just plain paranoid people, it’s becoming difficult to take photographs in any public setting without being looked at as suspicious.

Well, here’s a t-shirt that might help!

The next time I plan to take pictures in public, or if I ever plan a photo shoot in a large city, I’ll be sure to get one of these and wear it.  Maybe it will help.

Until next time…

Instagram Camera In The Works?

I‘ve never used photography sharing sites like Flickr and Instagram, but I know of several people that do and swear by them.

Recently, I came across an article about an “Instagram Camera” that’s in the concept stage.  It actually sounds pretty interesting.  Even though I don’t currently use Instagram, I think this camera would be a really cool addition to the world of Photography.

Check it out here.

I figured I‘d spread the word for those of you that may be interested!

Until next time!

New Gadget For iPhone Photography…

Personally, I don’t use an iPhone, but I know a great number of you out there do.  Recently I came across a little gadget geared toward those of you iPhone users who are inclined toward photography.

I’ve seen how people take pictures with their iPhone and it looks a little awkward to me, but this little gadget seems like it may help.  Again, I can’t say for sure where I’m not an iPhone user, so you folks will have to judge for yourselves.

Check it out here.

Just thought I’d share!

Until next time!

Spring Has Sprung…

I usually mark spring’s arrival not by the calendar but by when flowers start to bloom, butterflies start flitting around, and when my lawn needs to be mowed for the first time in the year.

Flowers in bloom….Check.

Lawn needs to be mowed….Check.

Butterflies flitting around….Check.

Spring has sprung, my friends.  Get outside and enjoy!

Until next time…

Make Your Signature Into A Custom Photoshop Shape

For those new to the world of Photoshop (all two of you out there), making custom brushes or shapes may sound like a daunting task but it really isn’t that bad.  Sure there are a few steps and it might get frustrating if you lose your place but time, focus, and practice is the key.  Once made, brushes and custom shapes can make your life a whole lot easier.

While creating some brushes to watermark my photography, I came across a tutorial online that showed me step-by-step how to take my signature from the page to a custom shape in Photoshop.  And, from this custom shape, you can make a custom brush.

Instead of me writing out all the steps, it might be easier on all of us if I just point you to the tutorial I stumbled across –>” Turn Your Signature Into A Photoshop Custom Shape.”

This tutorial is straight forward, detailed, and not too difficult to follow for those Photoshop savvy folks.

Now what to do with this custom shape once you’ve made it?  Well, that’s up to you.  You can use it like a watermark like I talked about a few posts back.  You can photograph (or scan) artwork, bring it into Photoshop, and use your custom brush to apply your signature.  Or you can do like I did a while ago and take some small address labels and make stickers with your signature on them (they‘re handy to apply my signature to prints)!

The possibilities are limited only by your imagination and creativity.  Give it a try!

Until next time….
