Winter Wonderland

Hello again, folks.  I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, Yule, Hanukah, etc. last week.

Speaking of last week, my state got hammered with a rather intense ice storm.  Not as intense as the ice storm that hit us in 1998 (remember that one, Mainers?), but intense none the less.  Everything was covered in a layer of ice, and now, a week later, everything is still coated in ice, but with an added blanket of snow.  The ice was so thick and heavy, it bent many trees completely over.  Granted, it is pretty when the sun shines, but I’m sure the trees don’t appreciate it.

Have a safe and happy New Years, everyone.  And to all my Maine readers (and other New Englanders that read my blog), travel safely on those icy roads!

Until next time…

Season’s Greetings

Tis that time of year again.  The snow is falling, the festivities are gearing up if not in full swing already, and the Christmas carols are heard almost everywhere.

Here’s to wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday season whether you celebrate Christmas or not, it’s still a special time of year.

May your holidays be joyous and your New Year prosperous!”

Thanks Lousy Laptop Modem

My apologies for the lack of a blog post last Monday, folks.  Having a dial-up internet connection, I’m subject to the whims of not only my phone line, but also my laptop and it’s modem.  Said modem suddenly decided it didn’t want to recognize my phone line anymore so I was without internet access for almost two weeks.

But, I snagged a replacement modem so I should be ok now.  Keep your fingers crossed everyone.  Hopefully now I can get back into the swing of Monday posts.  That is, if I survive my dentist appointment this week.  [>_<]

Wish me luck.

Until next time…

Calendar Project?

The past few years, I’ve been flirting with the idea of making and selling a calendar.  Though, I’ve been having some trouble with this project.  One, I’m not sure how well a calendar of my photography would be received by consumers, and two, I’m having a tough time selecting twelve photographs to go into said calendar.

Obviously, this late in the year, should I put this idea into action, there won’t be a calendar for 2014.  But, if people are interested, I would probably shoot for a 2015 calendar.

Some feedback from my readers on this idea of mine would be welcome and greatly appreciated.  Would any of you, dear readers, be interested in an Audrey May Photography calendar?  If so, what are some images you would like to see in the calendar?  Feel free to leave comments here on my site, on my Facebook page, or send them to me in an email.  I’m interested to hear opinions on this idea.

Until next time…

Cat In The Office…Round 2…

Last year I mentioned in a post that one of my other interests outside of photography is writing.  I recently began planning out a new writing project, but last week my biggest error was sitting down in the evening to work on said project.  Evening is when my youngest cat craves my attention.  My undivided attention.  And, like all of my cats, she tends to get her way.

I had the tools for my project laid out on my desk ready to go and just as I sat down and started to work, this is what happened…

Craving Attention

Now, I love my little grey ninja monkey as I love all my cats, and I really don’t have the heart to close her out of the room when I want to work, but I think I just might have to start.  Either that or I’ll have to force myself to start working during the day when she’s off in another part of the house playing or napping with the other cats.  It just sucks for me that the creative flow tends to hit me when the sun goes down, just when she wants my attention the most.  Oh well.  I’m sure everything will sort itself out sooner or later.

Anyway, this Thursday is Thanksgiving so I’d like to wish everyone out there a happy, safe, and healthy Thanksgiving.  Don’t eat too much!!  Oh, and happy Hanukkah too!

Until next time…
